Requirements: MUST HAVE BACCALAUREATE DEGREE AND THREE TO FIVE YEARS DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE, PREFERABLY IN HIGHER EDUCATION, WITH EXPERIENCE SOLICITING LEADERSHIP ANNUAL FUND GIFTS OF $1,000 TO $25,000 OR MORE. EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH HIGH-LEVEL VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP AND STAFFING VOLUNTEER COMMITTEES. EXPERIENCE PLANNING EVENTS FOR GROUPS RANGING FROM 12 TO 200 OR MORE. ABILITY TO MANAGE MULTIPLE PROJECTS EFFECTIVELY. STRONG ANALYTICAL SKILLS TO PROVIDE INFORMATION AND DATA TO VOLUNTEERS AS NEEDED. KNOWLEDGE OF EXCEL, FILEMAKER PRO SOFTWARE PREFERRED. EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH AND SETTING UP DATABASES. MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE PREFERRED. EXTENSIVE TRAVEL IS REQUIRED.


Job Description: POSITION REPORTS TO THE DIRECTOR OF ANNUAL GIVING PROGRAMS AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PLANNING, EVALUATING, AND IMPLEMENTING A STRONG ELIOT SOCIETY PROGRAM IN CITIES OUTSIDE ST. LOUIS. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: MANAGEMENT OF A STRONG ELIOT SOCIETY PROGRAM IN 20 TARGET CITIES OUTSIDE ST. LOUIS, INCLUDING PLANNING CULTIVATION PROGRAM FOR MEMBERS AND PROSPECTS, RECRUITING KEY VOLUNTEERS, COORDINATING REGULAR COMMITTEE MEETINGS, AND IDENTIFYING AND SOLICITING KEY PROSPECTS THROUGH PERSONAL VISITS. REQUIRES REGULAR CONTACT WITH LEADERSHIP AND MORE THAN 250 VOLUNTEERS IN THE TARGET CITIES. EVALUATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF GENERAL WILLIAM GREENLEAF ELIOT SOCIETY PROGRAMS AND CULTIVATION EVENTS IN THE TARGET CITIES ON AN ANNUAL OR BI-ANNUAL BASIS. RECRUITMENT OF NEW ELIOT SOCIETY MEMBERS IN TARGET CITIES AND NON-COUNCIL CITIES THROUGH PERSONAL VISITS WITH ALUMNI, PARENT, AND FRIEND PROSPECTS. IDENTIFICATION AND RECRUITMENT OF LEADERSHIP IN NON-COUNCIL CITIES BY REGION INCLUDING THE NORTHWEST, SOUTHWEST, CENTRAL, AND NORTHEAST REGIONS TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR VOLUNTEER INVOLVEMENT AND GROWTH IN KEY AREAS WITHOUT ELIOT SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEES. MANAGEMENT OF ELIOT PROSPECT AND RENEWAL DATABASES INCLUDING IDENTIFICATION OF PROSPECTIVE NEW MEMBERS; RENEWAL AND UPGRADE SOLICITATIONS AND TRACKING; AND COORDINATION OF PROSPECTS AND DONORS WITH SCHOOL AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT STAFF TO ENSURE THAT ALL MEMBERS OUTSIDE ST. LOUIS ARE ENGAGED WITH THE UNIVERSITY. COORDINATE AND STAFF TWO MEETINGS/CONFERENCE CALLS PER YEAR FOR THE LEADERSHIP IN EACH TARGET CITY OR REGION. SUPERVISE TWO TO THREE ASSISTANT DIRECTORS WHO WILL STAFF THREE TO FIVE TARGET CITIES AND WORK WITH TARGETED REUNION ALUMNI THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. TRAVEL IS REQUIRED. ADDITIONAL DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED BY THE DIRECTOR OF ANNUAL GIVING PROGRAMS.
