Requirements: MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN INSTITUTIONAL/ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT OR CLOSELY RELATED FIELDS. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WHO HAVE SUCESSFULLY PLANNED AND IMPLEMENTED FUND RAISING PROGRAMS IN AN ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: A BACHELOR'S OR GRADUATE DEGREE, EXCELLENT VERBAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS, EXCELLENT PROGRAM AND EVENT MANAGEMENT SKILLS; HIGHLY ORGANIZED WORK STYLE IS ESSENTIAL, ABILITY TO EFFECTIVELY UTILIZE COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY, ABILITY TO THINK STRATEGICALLY, PLAN AND IMPLEMENT EFFECTIVELY. DEMONSTRATED INTEREST IN MEETING PEOPLE; STRONG DESIRE TO INITIATE CONTACT WITH AND DEVELOP RELATIONSHIPS WITH PROSPECTS AND DONORS. Job Description: THE ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI AND DEVELOPMENT REPORTS TO THE SENIOR DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI AND DEVELOPMENT AND HELPS THE SENIOR DIRECTOR AND THE DEAN IN MANY AREAS OF DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES FOR THE SCHOOL. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE PLANNING AND OPERATING VARIOUS SEGMENTS OF ANNNUAL FUND AND ALUMNI PROGRAMS AND DEVELOPING AND MAINTAINING A HIGH LEVEL OF ENERGY AND ENTHUSIASM BETWEEN THE ALUMNI AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT GROUPS. DEPENDING UPON QUALIFICATIONS, THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: 1.) PERSONAL SOLICITATIONS TO SECURE GIFTS FROM ALUMNI AND FRIENDS. MAINTAIN ANNUAL GOAL OF PROSPECT AND DONOR CALLS (IN-TOWN AND OUTSIDE OF ST. LOUIS), SECURE GIFTS FROM NEW DONORS, CENTURY CLUB, ELIOT SOCIETY ANDABOVE, PROVIDE PROPER COMMUNICATIONS AND FOLLOW-UP WITH CONSTITUENTS. 2.) DIRECT THE SCHOOL'S ELIOT SOCIETY EFFORTS. PERSONNALLY SOLICIT ELIOT SOCIETY PROSPECTS LOCALLY AND OUT OF TOWN FOR GIFTS AND RENEWALS, REVIEW AND ANNUALLY UPDATE ELIOT SOCIETY PROSPECT DATABASE, COORDINATE THE RECRUITMENT OF VOLUNTEERS TO STAFF THE SCHOOL'S ELIOT SOCIETY SOLICITATION COMMITTEE, SUPERVISE PROSPECT ASSIGNMENT AND PERSONALLY FOLLOW-UP WITH COMMITTEE MEMBERS TO ENCOURAGE AND ASSIST IN SOLICITATIONS, PLAN AND COORDINATE SEAS ELIOT SOCIETY CULTIVATION/SOLICITATION EVENTS, COORDINATE ELIOT SOCIETY DIRECT MAIL (SOLICITATION AND RENEWAL LETTERS). SERVE AS STAFF COORDINATOR FOR MAJOR GIFT PROSPECTS, MOVING PROSPECTS ALONG GIVING PATHS. 3.) COORDINATE ALL ASPECTS OF ANNUAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS BANQUET. SEEK AWARDEE NOMINATIONS FROM ALUMNI AND FRIENDS, COMPILE AWARDEE INFORMATION FOR SELECTION COMMITTEE MEETING, SERVE AS A LIAISON BETWEEN AWARD RECIPIENTS AND SCHOOL, ASSIST IN EVENT PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION, COORDINATE NECESSARY COMMUNICATION AND FOLLOW-UP. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITES: 1.) WORK WITH THE DEAN, THE SENIOR DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT, AND FELLOW SEAS DIRECTORS IN ESTABLISHING DEVELOPEMENT OBJECTIVES, PLANS OF ACTION AND GOALS. 2.) HELP EVALUATE AND RATE CONSTITUENTS. 3.) ASSIST SEAS DIRECTORS ON SPECIFIC TASKS AS NEEDED. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED BY THE SENIOR DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT DURING THE COURSE OF THE ANNUAL FUND YEAR.
