Requirements:
BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN ACCOUNTING OR EQUIVALENT FIELD REQUIRED. MINIMUM TEN YEARS VARIED EXPERIENCE IN ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE. PREVIOUS SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. HIGHLY DEVELOPED INTERPERSONAL SKILLS; EXCELLENT VERBAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS; STRONG ABILITY TO INFLUENCE PEOPLE AND SITUATIONS BOTH INTERNALLY AND EXTERNALLY AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH DEPARTMENTS. STRONG SPREADSHEET, QUANTITATIVE AND ANALYTICAL SKILLS AND THE ABILITY TO ORGANIZE AND MANAGE DATA. MBA OR EQUIVALENT PREFERRED.
Job Description:
PROVIDE LEADERSHIP IN BUDGET PLANNING AND ANALYSIS, ADMINISTRATION OF THE SCHOOL'S BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL OPERATIONS. RESPONSIBLE FOR INTERNALCONTROLS AND CONTRIBUTES TO THE SCHOOL'S SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM. BUDGET PLANNING, ANALYSIS AND OVERSIGHT: IMPLEMENT A SCHOOL-WIDE BUDGET PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM THAT REFLECTS THE SCHOOL'S STRATEGIC PRIORITIES. WORK CLOSELY WITH THE DEAN, PRODUCE SCHOOL'S ANNUAL BUDGET VARIANCES AND VARIANCES FROM THE PRIOR YEAR'S ACTUAL RESULTS. GENERATE PROPOSALS AND ANALYSES FOR THE SCHOOL'S TUITION AND FINANCIAL AID POLICIES. REPRESENT THE SCHOOL IN FINANCIAL REVIEWS AND NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE CENTRAL ADMINISTRATION. WORK WITH THE DEAN, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, PROGRAM DIRECTORS, AND ASSOCIATE DEANS TO PRODUCE ANNUAL AND LONG-TERM CAPITAL BUDGET PROPOSALS. ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN THE SCHOOL'S LONG-TERM STRATEGIC PLANNING EFFORT. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS OPERATIONS: HIRE, TRAIN, DEVELOP, SUPERVISE AND DIRECT THE ACTIVITIES OF EMPLOYEES IN THE BUSINESS OFFICE, PRESENTLY FOUR FTE'S. ENSURE THE QUALITY AND TIMELINESS OF ACCOUNTING, PAYROLL, REIMBURSEMENTS,USE OF UNIVERSITY VENDORS, INSURANCE, TRANSFERS, OTHER FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS AND BUSINESS OFFICE FUNCTIONS. MAINTAIN AN ADEQUATE SYSTEM OF INTERNAL CONTROLS THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL. WORK CLOSELY WITH THE DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, PROGRAM DIRECTORS, AND ASSOCIATE DEAN OF HR TO ENSURE PERSONNEL ISSUES SUCH AS IMMIGRATION STATUS AND PAYROLL ARE DEALT WITH INA UNIFORM AND TIMELY MANNER. WORK CLOSELY WITH THE DEPARTMENTAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS TO ENSURE FINANCIAL COMPLIANCE FOR GRANTS AND CONTRACTS, INFORMATION AND REPORTS FOR FACULTY AND CENTERS, AND TIMELY RESOLUTION OF FINANCIAL PROBLEMS AS THEY ARISE. ENSURE A PROFESSIONAL, RESPONSIVE AND CUSTOMER-FOCUSED ATMOSPHERE IN THE BUSINESS OFFICE. DATA INFORMATION AND REPORTING: PRODUCE SHORT-RUN DATA ON THE SCHOOL'S FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE FOR THE DEAN AND KEY MEMBERS OF THE SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM; PRODUCE LONG-RUN TREND DATA ON FINANCIAL INDICATORS FOR SCHOOL'S LONG-RANGE PLAN; PRODUCE PUBLIC REPORTS REGARDING THE SCHOOL'S PERFORMANCE FOR THE COUNCIL ON SOCIAL WORK EDUCATION AND OTHER EXTERNAL BODIES; PRODUCE PERIODIC SPECIAL STUDIES OF SPECIFIC FINANCIAL ISSUES OF IMPORTANCE TO THE SCHOOL. OTHER: PARTICIPATE ACTIVELY IN THE DEAN'S SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM, PROACTIVELY IDENTIFY ISSUES FOR ATTENTION, AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVED FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT. SPECIAL PROJECTSAND DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY THE DEAN.
