Requirements:
A MINIMUM OF THREE YEARS DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE, PREFERABLY WITHIN A COMPLEX UNIVERSITY OR OTHER ORGANIZATION WITH COMPLEX REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS. PREFER EXPERIENCE WITH MAJOR GIFTS SOLICITATION AND CAPITAL PROSPECT MANAGEMENT. BACHELOR'S DEGREE REQUIRED, MASTER'S DEGREE PREFERRED. HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL AND EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL WITH THOROUGH KNOWLEDGE OF INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT. FAMILIARITY WITH MODERN UNIVERSITY CAPITAL GIFT TECHNIQUES. EXCELLENT WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS. ABILITY TO WORK EFFECTIVELY WITH DIVERSE CONSTITUENTS SUCH AS CHANCELLOR, BOARD MEMBERS, VICE CHANCELLORS, DEANS, ETC. Job Description:
THERE ARE FIVE (5) IDENTICAL REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN THE MAJOR GIFTS OFFICE. REPORTING DIRECTLY TO THE ASSISTANT VICE CHANCELLOR FOR MAJOR GIFTS, SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: COORDINATION OF UNIVERSITY MAJOR GIFTS ACTIVITY WITHIN AN ASSIGNED GEOGRAPHIC REGION OF THE UNITED STATES AND RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSONAL ENGAGEMENT OF APPROXIMATELY 200 KEY CAPITAL GIFTS PROSPECTS. VISIT GOALS ARE ESTABLISHED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS. BECOME AND STAY WELL VERSED ON THE MISSION, PROJECTS, AND PROSPECTS FOR A SPECIFIC SCHOOL, AND SERVE AS THE OFFICE OF MAJOR GIFTS AND CAPITAL PROJECTS' LIAISON TO THAT SCHOOL. ASSIST WITH THE COORDINATION OF MAJOR PROSPECT REVIEW SESSIONS, CHANCELLOR/VICE CHANCELLOR TRIPS, CAPITAL PROJECTS AND CAMPAIGNS, PROSPECT ASSIGNMENTS, ETC. ASSIST WITH UNIVERSITY CAPITAL PROJECTS AND MAJOR GIFTS EFFORTS AS ASSIGNED BY THE ASSISTANT VICE CHANCELLOR AND IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SPECIFIC SCHOOL ALUMNI AND DEVELOPMENT STAFF, ASSIGNED TO THE SENIOR REGIONAL DIRECTOR AS PRIMARY LIAISON RESPONSIBILITIES. WORK CLOSELY WITH THE ASSOCIATE VICE CHANCELLOR (SCHOOL PROGRAMS), DIRECTORS AND THE VARIOUS DANFORTH CAMPUS ALUMNI AND DEVELOPMENT STAFF TO PURSUE COMMON SHARED OBJECTIVES AND GOALS. ASSIST IN IDENTIFYING, MANAGING AND CULTIVATING OTHER SPECIAL PROSPECTS AS ASSIGNED. ASSIST WITH SCHOOL CAPITAL CAMPAIGNS OR MAJOR GIFTS EFFORTS AS NEEDED AND REQUESTED. HELP COORDINATE REGIONAL WORK OF DEANS, SCHOOL/UNIT DIRECTORS, ADMINISTRATORS AND FACULTY WORKING WITH PROSPECTS WITHIN ONE OF THE ASSIGNED MAJOR GIFTS REGIONS. HELP ESTABLISH DEPARTMENT GOAL-SETTING METHODS BY: (1) OBJECTIVES, (2) MAJOR DONOR SOLICITATIONS, (3) SOURCE, (4) SCHOOL/UNIT AND (5) ACTIVITY. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY THE ASSISTANT VICE CHANCELLOR FOR MAJOR GIFTS AS APPROPRIATE.
