How to Apply for Washington University Staff Career Opportunities
Washington University is an outstanding organization, known not only for its educational excellence but also for its stature as an employer of choice within the St. Louis area. We are proud to claim a community of highly dedicated staff and faculty, as well as diverse and talented students from all parts of the world.

Washington University has implemented a new online employment system.

This user-friendly system allows you to:

        • Create and edit your application
        • Apply for specific jobs
        • Attach cover letters, resumes, and additional supporting documentation
        • Track the status of the jobs
        • Available 24 hours a day

      1. Go to our Website: www.wustlcareers.com and select the link:
      Washington University Career Opportunities

      2. Create Your Application
Begin by clicking on Create Application. Create your user name and password (write this down for later use), complete your application, and you’re ready to apply for posted job openings. If you do not have all the information to complete your application, you have the option to save and edit at a later time.
      3. Search for Jobs
What kind of job interests you? Search jobs by title, school/department, job requisition number, or job category by clicking on "Search Postings" in the left margin. Click search to see the entire job posting.
      4. Apply for Jobs
In order to be considered for a position, you must apply to each specific posting that interests you. If you find a job that matches your qualifications, click "Apply for this posting" button. If you have already saved an online application, you can make any changes or updates, then “send” the application. If you have not yet completed an online application, you will need to create one to apply. You will be asked several questions, and if asked, you will attach your résumé, cover letter or other documents in an electronic format. If you have begun applying for a position and realize you are not ready to attach your documents, you can return later by utilizing the “Attach Additional Documents Later” option. When you return, use the Application Status screen and “complete” by attaching documents.
      5. Application Status
You will be able to check the status of any jobs for which you have applied.
      6. View/Edit Applications
You may view and/or edit your existing application prior to applying for each specific job posting.
      7. Log In/Log Out
Be sure to log out every time you leave the system. You will be able to log in again with the user name and password you created.

Please note that the setup of this new system will require all candidates for employment to utilize the online application process. All applications and/or resumes must be submitted through the on-line system for consideration; paper applications/resumes will not be considered. Special supporting documentation, i.e. curriculum vitae, letters of recommendation, etc., will be accepted in hard copy form if indicated as required documentation in the job posting.

Computer access and personal assistance with the new system is available to all prospective applicants in both Human Resources Employment offices during regular business hours.
