ON THE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Application Process
1. Applicants must be a
current sophomore or junior and be in good standing
with the University.
2. Return your portion of the application and a one-page resume to the Residential Life Center, Nemerov House or Campus Box 1250 by
Tuesday, March 17, 2009,
at 12:00 noon.
3. Have the two recommendation forms (see below) filled out and returned by the recommender to the above listed location by
Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 12:00 noon

NOTE: At least one recommendation must be completed by a faculty member.
4. Members of the selection committee are not eligible to write recommendations.
It is your responsibility to check to see that your application file is complete
. Your file should contain the attached application form, a one-page resume, your essay responses, and two recommendation forms. Your file is not complete unless all materials are received. Please check back with your references.

5. All applicants will be notified after, whether they have been selected for an interview with the Selection Committee. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees will then interview finalists on
April 16, 2009. Students selected will be expected to attend the Board of Trustees meeting on Friday, May 1, 2009.
The Washington University Board of Trustees is seeking two undergraduate students to participate at Board meetings. The representatives attend meetings in order to provide a student perspective for the Board’s deliberations. If selected, you will be expected to attend four regular sessions of the Board. In addition, undergraduate student representatives help plan meetings of the Board’s Undergraduate Life Committee, and have the opportunity to observe committee meetings. They will also have the option to design and work on a special project, which is reported to the Board.
Previous undergraduate student representatives on the Board of Trustees have displayed a broad record of participation in various facets of the campus community. Some have held leadership positions in student organizations, committees, etc. In addition, it has been important that the student representatives are articulate, able to present a variety of opinions and maintain confidentiality, in good academic standing, and hold the respect of their peers and others who know them.
