Alumni & Parents Admission Program (APAP)
What?
The Alumni and Parents Admission Program (APAP) is a group of dedicated Washington University alumni and parents who are interested in assisting with the undergraduate admissions process. APAP members help the University to recruit, interview, and enroll talented students from all over the world.
Who?
Alumni (undergraduate) volunteers assist the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by interviewing students who have applied to Washington University. Interview reports from members provide the Admissions Committee with important information about a student that may not be evident in his or her application. Many APAP members also represent the University at College Fairs in their communities, and host receptions for admitted and enrolling students.
Parents of current Washington University students serve as our best resources to the parents of applicants because of their experiences with WU. Parents also assist the University by attending College Fairs, attending Group Meetings for prospective students (conducted by Admissions Officers), serving as greeters at Interview Days, and hosting receptions for admitted and enrolling students.
When?
APAP volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year in cities around the world:
- FALL -- Interview prospective students (alumni only)
- SPRING -- Encourage admitted students to enroll at Washington U.
- SPRING/SUMMER -- Host or attend receptions for admitted and enrolling Washington U. students
- YEAR-LONG -- Serve as an ambassador to Washington U.
Where?
APAP is everywhere! We have 72 committees around the world. If we do not have a committee in your area, please still contact us! We often receive requests for alumni interviews and College Fair volunteers in areas where there is not an “official” APAP committee.
