Arthur McWilliams
Charitable Gift Annuity
As a retired certified public accountant, Arthur McWilliams, LA49, knows a wise investment when he sees one. That's why longtime University supporter agreed to arrange a Charitable Gift Annuity, which transfers cash or securities to the University in exchange for a guaranteed, fixed income for life.
"I wanted to diversify my annual sources of income," says McWilliams. "Plus, some of that annual income is tax free, and I received a tax deduction for a portion of the amount I contributed."
Avid supporters of the John M. Olin School of Business, Mr. and Mrs. McWilliams helped establish the popular Scholars in Business program. The program links donors with the business students who receive their scholarships.
"The program lets you meet the students regularly through their four-year career. I readlly enjoy that," he says.
The McWilliams have also been staunch supporters of the athletic program, helping establish a fitness center in the Athletic Complex.
